Scholastic Solution - How It Works

The Basics

Scholastic Solution is a cloud based student tracking application for school libraries. It allows you to have a computer station for students to sign into your library. This means instead of a students having to sign in with a book or binder, you can move into the digital age with a computer sign in station. All you need is a spare computer to use as a sign in station and your set. Scholastic Solution gathers all the sign in data in one safe, easy to access place for you, so you don't have to worry about a thing! You can then access all the sign in info right from your desk. Scholastic Solution even allows you to setup teacher accounts, other librarian accounts, and even Administrator accounts for principals.

Student Sign In

The Student Sign In page is what students see while they are signing into the library. It is configured to only be accessible on one computer at a time unless otherwise requested. It is made to allow you to add a logo and edit the options on the sign in form. This is great if you want custom options on the sign in form, especially for the reasons why a student would visit the library, such as, to check in or out a book, use the computer, study, etc.

Teacher Portal

The Teacher Portal is where all the teachers at your school with accounts can go to view who has signed into the library. This way they can view if a student has actually gone to the library or not. This is a great resource to save time, as teachers would then be able to view sign ins right from their classroom, and you would no longer have to flip through pages and pages of sign ins to find a student for them.

Teacher accounts for the Teacher Portal are limited, they can only view sign ins and search the sign in database. They also have a search feature to look at previous student sign ins.

Librarian Control Panel

The Librarian Control Panel is the backbone behind this whole operation. Scholastic Solution was made with librarians in mind. The Librarian Control Panel allows librarians full access over the site. It comes with a full list of features, like, a live sign in feed, ability to edit the sign ins, view and print custom reports on sign ins, account management, and much more.

It is a great resource to have in your arsenal. It allows you to spend less time chasing students and more time running your library.
